By wisdom           a house is built,           and through      understanding, it is established;
through knowledge             its rooms are filled         with rare and beautiful treasures..

Whether it's idle curiosity or good business sense, most people want to know a bit about the background of their interior designer. The relationship between a designer and their client has a tendency to become a personal one due to the very nature of the process of planning, renovation, and furnishing the private living space of the client.

I am providing my information to satisfy your interest and to give you some insight into my personal creative process and my approach to the business of design.

While growing up on a farm in Ohio, I developed a passion for art and fashion. In 1975, I graduated from Kendall School of Design located in Grand Rapids, MI. An Ethan Allen furniture gallery in Connecticut gave me my start as an interior designer. While there I became very familiar with Georgian and Colonial periods of design.

In 1978 I opened Village Interiors, my first interior design studio and gift shop, in Defiance, Ohio. While there I experienced the pleasures and challenges of owning my own business. A few years later I moved to Columbus, Ohio, where I married and had two children, Caitlyn and Taylor.

After enjoying a successful career in interior design in two furniture studios, I once again set out on my own. Christy Romoser Interiors, Inc. was formed in 1990, and became one of Columbus's premier design studios. My work is known for comfortable, contemporary, and eclectic styles using wonderful textures and my own custom designs.

Anxious for new design opportunities and a location where we could enjoy the beauty of God's creation, I moved my family to the Pacific Northwest in 2003. Buying a home in the Redmond area, east of Seattle, I now maintain a full service design studio in my home. I also have a working studio for hand-painting fabrics, furniture, and art.

Recently, on a trip to East Africa, my interest in the elegant simplicity of African art forms was renewed. This exposure, combined with my love of the Northwest and new friends has fostered amazing growth artistically, emotionally and spiritually.
